I am excited to get started on yet another SUCCESSFUL year in raising money for MANY amazing charities and rescues!
My featured group for Tuesday the 31st is the amazing group: Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue. I will be donating 25% of the TOTAL sales that come through my website during the online event to DVGRR! Need a good reason to shop on this group's behalf? Well, here are a few to get you started.
By 1999, DVGRR had found new homes for more than 800 Golden Retrievers. That same year, we were unable to help more than a dozen dogs, which left us very frustrated. Our Foster Home system was excellent, but we just didn?t have enough homes to accept all of the relinquished Goldens, or to provide necessary training and medical care. As a result of these hardships, we began our quest for a permanent home and base of operations: our ?Golden Gateway.?
In September 2000, thanks to the support of our many adopters and Golden Retriever lovers, we were able to obtain a mortgage to purchase a beautiful 4-acre property with a clean, modern kennel building and a modest caretaker?s home. It was a scary, but thrilling step for our non-profit group. Two days after settlement, our first Golden, Joey, arrived and it has been a non-stop, exciting, and rewarding experience ever since. Over the years, we have made many improvements to our facility and program and we are always striving to provide the highest quality service possible to our dogs and our adoptive families.
Dedicated volunteers supplement our small paid staff and all work together to care for the always changing group of dogs in our program (?Gateway Guests?) awaiting their forever homes.
